Lecture. Nuremberg. Francesco Pavan seen by Bettina Sauerbruch-Meese
Thanks a lot to all visitors of our exhibition talk about Francesco Pavan on the evening of January 23 in Nuremberg’s Neues Museum. I just got pictures from my colleague Petra Hoelscher who attended this event with our director Florian Hufnagl last Wednesday. We apologize for the delay of this post but meanwhile – which means on Thursday and Friday – Petra and our director had a “short” trip to Hamburg and back, just like that … so, you see – there wasn’t really much time to exchange information of how it was in Nuremberg during this talk in our Pavan exhibition.
Well, obviously it was a great evening. Really interested and most attentive visitors – among them silversmith Paul Mueller of Nuremberg. And Bettina Sauerbruch-Meese has had so much to say about this Italian “maestro” of jewelry that is was not only informative but also enjoyable to listen to her. Being a student of Franz Rickert at the Art Academy in Munich, she later became professor in Kaufbeuren-Neugablonz at the Schmuck Fachschule and taught a lot of students. She also successfully conducted this school for quite a long time as a vice-director. But most important: She has known Pavan for a very long time. So who would have been more apt and authentic to give this talk than herself!
We are very much obliged that Bettina Sauerbruch-Meese agreed to come to Nuremberg, and to do this talk in our exhibition. We say THANKS to her and to all our guests!

- Queuing up outside the museum to get a ticket for the lecture of Helmut Jahn in the evening
- The long long line
- In the morning – this queue would be worth an article in Nuremberg’s newspapers!
Wednesday evening in Nuremberg, Neues Museum: Helmut Jahn was giving a lecture with the title “The future is never wrong”.
Background was his exhibition in Neues Museum for Art and Design, which was initiated by Die Neue Sammlung – The International Design Museum Munich – and realized in co-operation between both museums and the architect. Exhibition concept and installation: bangertprojects. The exhibition will be on show until February 24.
The event was crowded – the auditory was full to bursting. But fortunately the museum had organized projections, outside broadcasts of the lecture in both (!) foyers.
Already in the morning the crowd lined up in order to buy tickets for the lecture and the file was from the cashier’s desk through the foyer to outside the museum and over the square in front of the museum’s facade …
