Hans Hansen Object PhotographyRadical purism - - - and highly sensual aesthetics: with the most sublime graphic effect Hans Hansen puts the very essence of things in the limelight and discovers the magic inherent in everyday products. Having had a studio in Hamburg since 1967, he is now one of the leading specialist photographers in the world. As well as completing commissioned work for among others international industrial corporations, advertising agencies and publishers he has also made a name for himself with independent works.
By means of a selection from both areas of his work, the exhibition in the Neue Sammlung – devised in cooperation with Hans Hansen and Ute Eskildsen from the Folkwang Museum in Essen – provides for the very first time an insight into the photographer’s output over the past decades.
Shortly before its move to new premises in the Pinakothek der Moderne, with this display of works ranging from experimental design to professional commissioned work the Neue Sammlung is creating yet another milestone in its series of photographic exhibitions.
