In Stefan Diez (born 1971) we were fortunate enough to engage the services of one of the most high profile young German designers to develop the exhibition concept. Diez has, after all, already been attracting attention in the international arena. For the show in the Pinaktohek der Moderne Diez made use of the buildings unique architecture, creating a visual link between the ground floor and the lofty reaches of the museum by means of over-sized white boxes on the outer edges of the balconies on the second story of the imposing rotunda.

The boxes serve as an impressive stage for the unique presentation of the individual entries, especially as side mirrors on the inside repeatedly reflect these, making them visible from various perspectives. The exhibition sees itself both as a visual exclamation mark and a game of hide-and-seek that presents the young designers’ ideas in a contemporary manner rather than placing them on a rostrum
