As of April 2008 Die Neue Sammlung is showing selected works by sculptress
Nele Ströbel from her experimental project Von der Haptik zur
Optik (From feel to appearance) in a display installation.
Drawings, pictorial documents and models from the design process form
the basis of discussions between the artist and long-time connoisseurs
of her work. Visitors are invited to experience these dialogues with
the subjects “World as a workshop” and “Everyday
design situations and experiments” directly at the location of
the exhibition.
Prof. Dr. Bernhard Waldenfels | A philosopher the focus of whose research
is on Phenomenology and Corporeality, Waldenfels addresses, amongst
other things, the questions of foreignness and otherness, lifetime
and historical time, perception and image.
Herbert H. Schultes | The recipient of many awards, Schultes was Head
Designer at Siemens AG from 1985-2000. The experimental studio run
by him looked for new approaches to design – “a release
from the corset of trammeled thought processes”.
Nele Ströbel | As “artist in residence” from 1985
through 1987, the sculptress was commissioned by Siemens Design to
model and produce collages of studies for computer workstations of
the future.
