The Collection Design is on tour

The “Founding Director” of Neues Museum in Nuremberg, Lucius Grisebach, will retire in 2007 and has planned an exhibition “Taking Stock” of his collection work in Nuremberg since 1988 – it will take up both floors of the museum, i.e., not only the original rooms of the Sammlung Kunst (Collection Art)on the first floor, but also the rooms housing the Sammlung Design (Collection Design) on the ground floor. As of August 2006, the Collection Art will thus gradually be re-organized and displayed across both floors of the museum.

In order for this to be possible, The Neue Sammlung will be temporarily taking down its standing exhibition on the Collection Design.
Work will begin on June 26, 2006.

For the duration of the “Taking Stock” show in Nuremberg, the exhibits of The Neue Sammlung will go on tour in exhibitions in Europe and Asia.
