Cars can be viewed in any number of ways, especially in photography. Here, two photographers present their own extraordinary perspectives:
Freddy Langer – photographic author, travel journalist and editor of Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung – came across his motif in the west of the United States, where automobiles play a very special role: "Carhenge", a spectacular "car fortress" made of limousines that rear up towards the unending Nebraska sky. The cosmopolitan Langer's photographs provide a surprising slant on the American enthusiasm for cars.
Christoph Seeberger – an expert when it comes to product and advertising
photography – produced for SZ Magazin a series of images of cars viewed from
an unusual angle: from below, which only those with an intimate knowledge such
as mechanics and technicians have ever seen before. Shiny metal, polished chrome,
clear lines and graphic structures … all produce a totally new impression of
high aesthetic value: a different slant on the fascination with cars.
