Julius Shulman (born 1910) is one of the masters of international architecture photography. His works, dating from the 1940s through 1960s, provide a chronicle of American Modernism. The list of his clients included Richard Neutra, Rudolph M. Schindler, Frank Lloyd Wright, John Lautner, Louis I. Kahn, Charles & Ray Eames, and Raymond Loewy. The way in which Shulman managed to capture in his photos the icons of international style in the Californian light is truly unique – in the most breathtaking locations in Los Angeles, Hollywood, Beverly Hills… – pictures that even today are spell binding and bear witness to the fascination of the "American dream". | |
