As part of the new Futuro Sessions series, American singer-songwriter Ian Fisher will be performing at the Futuro-House opposite the Pinakothek der Moderne.
Ever since he left his home state of Missouri for Europe at the age of 21, his music has straddled these two worlds. His songs blend the vastness of the American Midwest with the impressions of a life spent travelling \u2013 personal, poetic and full of subtle observations.
With nearly 2,000 original songs, 20 released albums and countless concerts across Europe, North America and Africa, Ian Fisher has established himself as an exceptional live performer. His concerts are intense, intimate and honest.
Musically, he is reminiscent of Jeff Tweedy\u2019s acoustic directness, Townes Van Zandt\u2019s melancholic storytelling and Billy Bragg\u2019s social consciousness. Rolling Stone magazine describes his music as \u201ca globetrotter\u2019s perspective on American folk-rock\u201d.
Outside the Futuro House, Ian Fisher will present a selection from his extensive repertoire as well as new songs that focus on our present day \u2013 a concert evening full of stories, delicate melodies and timeless songwriting.

Die Neue Sammlung invites you to an extraordinary series of musical events at the Futuro House \u2013 a visionary space that itself seems like a musical instrument of the future. Within this unique architectural setting, experimental sounds, electronic music and interdisciplinary performances come together and merge into an immersive experience.
Over the course of several evenings, the Futuro-House will become a stage for international and local musicians and artists who, within this distinctive architectural setting, will explore the boundaries of music, space and perception. The series is conceived as an open laboratory: a place where new soundscapes emerge, unfold and enter into dialogue with the building\u2019s unique atmosphere.
Blurring the lines between design, architecture and sound, Die Neue Sammlung thus opens up a new approach to contemporary music \u2013 sensory, surprising and forward-looking.
