Paula Scher has been shaping graphic design with her innovative creation for over five decades.

In the field of signage and environmental graphics, her work has opened up a new perspective on streets and buildings as dynamic type installations. In our new ONE ON ONE episode, she talks about the reconstruction of the Rockaway Beach boardwalk in Queens, New York, after its destruction by Hurricane Sandy in 2012 – a project that fills an entire wall of her current installation TYPE IS IMAGE at the DIE NEUE SAMMLUNG – THE DESIGN MUSEUM. ONE ON ONE: In our video series, we invite different personalities to talk about an exhibition piece that particularly touches them.
