This humanoid Mechanical Missile Robot toy is operated mechanically and needs to be wound up. Its feet are driven in a rotating motion by a clockwork mechanism and cogwheels, causing the figure to move forward. In addition, pressing down on a pin on its back triggers the launch of one of two rockets. In this example, there are no black tips such as are normally found on the rockets of these robot models. A square panel made of red, transparent Perspex is intended to simulate a laser, according to the packaging.
Typically for the 1970s, the toy robot consists of cubic shapes, giving it a box-like appearance. A lot of models from that time rely on a similar design language.
