In this episode of ONE on ONE, Nigerian artist and ceramicist Ngozi-Omeje Ezema (*1979) talks about her work “Boundless Vases,” which will be exhibited at the Pinakothek der Moderne from December 5, 2024, to May 11, 2025.

Using transparent nylon cords, hundreds of ceramic fragments are strung together at specific heights and positions to simulate vases of various shapes and sizes.

Ngozi-Omeje Ezema, who trained and teaches at the University of Nigeria in Nsukka, represents a new generation of African artists bringing an ancient traditional art form into the present.
