About the Exhibition

Clear blue skies, icy-crisp air, snow-white mountains, holidays – the winter period has a magic all of its own. Winter tourism and posters made their great breakthrough in the 19th century, and both addressed a mass public.

Painting, collage, photographs or graphic reduction – designers and artists constantly embarked down new creative paths. A total of 24 posters from the Neue Sammlung – The Design Museum collection will be accompanying visitors through the weeks before and after Christmas, and speak of the enthusiasm for the mountains, snow, and winter sports.

Take part and win: We did raffle off posters by Mirko Borsche among all the posts and shares on Instagram bearing the Hashtag #WinterzauberDNS.

The show includes posters designed by:
Otl Aicher, Herbert Auchli, Denise Bertschi, Emil Cardinaux, Alois Carigiet, Eric de Coulon, Al. Daskalovic, Hans Rudi Erdt, Philipp Giegel, Petre Grant, Walter Herdeg, Bert Huszár, J.
