An inclusive Design Experience

Die Neue Sammlung has a new project:
an inclusive touch station.
Inclusive means:
Visitors with and without disabilities can use the touch station.
You can touch 17 selected objects with your hands.
These objects are set out on 2 touch tables.

There is also digital information about the objects.
This means that you can get the information
from screens that are movable.
You can choose
how you want to get the information:
• as a short text
• as an easy-to-read text
• as an audio description with a special headset
• as a video in German Sign Language

All information is also available in German.
You can get more information about the objects from:
pictures, texts, audio recordings, and videos.

What is new about: An inclusive Design Experience?

This touch station is the first program for everyone.
It is for:
• People with hearing impairments
• People with visual impairments
• People with limited mobility
• People who have a different first language than German
• People who cannot understand difficult texts well

Our collection is one of the most important collections
on the history of design in the world.
That is why we want visitors
from many different countries
to experience our touch station.
With our digital offer,
everyone can experience our collection.

What can you find at the touch station?

Die Neue Sammlung has collected many different objects.
Some of them you can touch at the touch station.
You can learn about
different ideas for design and different materials.

We want you to really experience the objects.
That is why you can touch even some original objects
and different materials at the touch tables.
You can put together some of the objects yourself.
For this, we created models of the original objects.
This way, you can try everything and have fun.
