Henning Koppel lived from 1918 to 1981. He studied to become a sculptor. A sculptor makes sculptures out of stone or wood, for example. Henning Koppel was a very important artist in Scandinavia after the war.

From 1945, Henning Koppel worked for Georg Jensen. Georg Jensen is a silversmith’s workshop in Copenhagen. A silversmith’s workshop is a place where they make things out of silver.

From 1961, Henning Koppel worked for Bing and Grøndahl. Bing and Grøndahl is a porcelain manufacturer.

From 1971, Henning Koppel worked for Orrefors. Orrefors is a glass manufacturer in Sweden.

Henning Koppel created new pieces for Georg Jensen. These pieces were different from previously. Previously, the things made of silver in Scandinavia were like things in nature. And these things made of silver were like in the 1930s. In the 1930s, the items had geometric shapes. Geometric shapes are: • Circles • Squares The body of the jug is round and curved.
