In 2026, Die Neue Sammlung, the design museum under the roof of Munich’s Pinakothek der Moderne, will be celebrating the 100th anniversary of its foundation.
In 2026, we’re proudly looking back on 20 successful years of jewelry exhibitions at Die Neue Sammlung, a series that kicked off back in 2006 with the “Herman Jünger. Fundstücke” exhibition.
In 2026, the jewelry collection is celebrating its first 30 years as part of Die Neue Sammlung. The first item of jewelry was acquired in 1996, with guardianship of the Danner-Stiftung’s collection of contemporary jewelry then assigned to Die Neue Sammlung and that collection thus becoming a permanent loan.
In 2026 we are teaming up with over 40 jewelry classes from all over the world, covering all five continents and involving 24 different countries, to celebrate the future of young contemporary jewelry. The classes have taken it upon themselves to mastermind and present a pop-up exhibition specially for the Friday evening of the Jewelry Weekend, which will only be on show there on that one evening.
