100 Years of Design & Technology

Die Neue Sammlung – The Design Museum and the Deutsches Museum are celebrating their 100th anniversaries together.

While their collections are partly identical, their perspectives on the objects differ. While the Deutsches Museum collects primarily based on technical aspects, the Design Museum places greater emphasis on design. Some objects, however, shape cultural history and are thus featured in both museums.

“It’s a match” explores the similarities, differences, and associative connections between the objects. Look forward to fascinating insights into the collection histories of these two major museums in Munich.

Guided tour: Robotic Worlds


At the dawn of the so-called Age of Robots, Die Neue Sammlung is dedicating itself to these relatively young contemporaries of humankind. For over 100 years, robots have shaped our ideas of future and parallel worlds. In recent years, they have become an integral part of our everyday lives. According to experts, their areas of application are set to increase rapidly in the coming years. 


In German language. Participation is included in the admission price. Children and young people under the age of 18 are admitted free of charge.
Limited number of places available. Tickets for guided tours are available at the ticket office.
